We may be in lock down – but that can’t stop the art! Now, more than ever, is the time for young people to Send Their Voices.
This month we have several awesome programs going on for Lakota kids including: our online Hoye Wayelo (“I;m Sending A Voice”) Arts Academy, Art Kits and lunches for the Kid’s Club in Pine Ridge, Art Programs in Pine Ridge and Rosebud schools, and a reservation-wide Summer Art Challenge!
It has been an unprecedented few months – and for many Lakota kids, the challenges have been incredible. We have been working with tribal and community leaders, schools, and educators to keep the opportunities flowing for the youth during these challenging times.
One of the greatest things about creativity is that it helps us adapt to unknown circumstances, and the current events in the world are requiring exactly that right now. We have a great line up of teachers for our Summer Arts Academy and a host of great projects for our Summer Art Challenges. But we need your support to reach as many kids as we can! We hope you will help us create as many opportunities as possible for these awesome young people!
