SUMMER ART CHALLENGE

August 1, 2020 by Mitakuye Foundation Leave a Comment

Creativity is a great tool to help us adapt to unknown circumstances, and the current events in the world are requiring exactly that of us! So we created the Summer Art Challenge to have a way put our energy into creating and sending our voices in a positive and constructive way.

This challenge is open to all Lakota kids through age 18 or high school.

Complete all 5 themes in the challenge and you earn Mitakuye Summer Arts Tshirt! And for every piece of art you make we will enter your name in a drawing for a chance to win a Grand Prize!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ART CHALLENGE:

What are you inspired to create when you think of the theme? Does it make you think of a person? A place? A thing? A color? A feeling? A sound? You can interpret these ideas any way you want. The themes are just starting points and there are no right or wrong ways to do it. You can draw, paint, doodle, write. You can even make a dance or song and send it to us. We encourage all forms of creativity!

THEMES:

CLOUDS

POWER

COLOR

NATURE

FREEDOM

When you finish your 5 themes – take a picture of each one and send each piece of art with your name, age, and school. So if your texting us send your name, age, and school and then send each piece of art. Then send us a picture of you holding your art. This way we know which art belongs to which student.

DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 15th.

Here is how to send it in:
